Yaz Peterson -Bio
Yaz Peterson is an entrepreneur, health insurance advisor, community connector, and leader known for her resilience, advocacy for others, and ability to build meaningful relationships that create lasting opportunities.
After more than a decade in retail leadership, Yaz realized that the part of her career she valued most wasn't simply managing a business—it was developing, educating, and advocating for people. Her desire to serve others beyond the limitations of a traditional corporate environment eventually planted the seed for entrepreneurship.
Her path became clearer after losing her own employer-sponsored health coverage. Experiencing firsthand how confusing health insurance could be, Yaz recognized a significant gap: people needed more than insurance options—they needed someone who could explain those options clearly and help them understand what they were choosing and why.
A natural problem-solver who enjoys turning complicated situations into understandable solutions, Yaz founded Zatar Peterson Health Insurance Group and now works primarily with self-employed professionals, entrepreneurs, families, and small-business owners navigating their health coverage options.
Her philosophy is simple: helping someone doesn't always mean earning their business. Yaz believes in listening first, educating people about their options, and helping them determine their best next step. If she isn't the right person to help, she will do her best to connect them with someone who can.
